Equality

It has been written, read, shown, seen, said and listened a lot about the need for the equality of men and women. But we seldom care about it after that instance, and often, people fail to implement it in their own lives. The situation is still the same (at least here) in India, maybe except few places, but in most of the places. Nothing much has changed in the past decades. "Change is the only thing that doesn't change", I have heard people say this. But frankly, from my very own experience, not all changes; It's only the things that you do not wan't to get changed, changes actually. Conversely, the things that you want to get changed, never does.

Here's a short story (inspired from real events) to emphasize my point. A scene at the house of the newly married couple.

Husband hurried down the stairs to the kitchen where his wife was busy cooking.
"Hi," wife greeted on seeing her husband,
"Hi," he kissed her, and leaned towards the shelf to get a match box.
She was taken aback on seeing his act, "What... What are you doing?"
"Nothing," he responded nonchalantly, and moved out of the kitchen towards the couch in the reading room. She followed him only to see him light the cigarette. She was shocked to see that for it was the first time she was seeing him smoking.
"Do you smoke?" She questioned him.
"Yeah, but occasionally," he replied dismissing her profane look.
"How often that 'occasionally' come?" She questioned again.
"It comes when I want to smoke, and I want to smoke when I remember her, and I remember her often," he said.
"Oh my God, who is she?" she asked curiously.
"The girl whom I loved, truly," he said on seeing his wife's eyes. She saw the luminance in his face when he said that.
"Love?"
"Yep, don't worry. It was just an unrequited love," he replied to comfort her, though she wasn't like she needed that anyway.
"I'm not worried, not at all," She tried to be normal and continued, "Alright, light one for me too".
"Are you Kidding?"
"Nope. Did I seem like that?" she was more casual this time, prancing towards him.
"What the hell? Do you smoke?" He was bewildered.
"Yeah, but occasionally," she replied dismissing his profane look.
He sat still.
"But you don't have to worry. That 'occasional' comes only when I'm upset and disappointed with the ones who is close to my heart." She pulled one from his hand, pretending to light it.

-----    Guess, you might figure what would have happened next.

MORAL: When you act to upset someone, you will end up, sooner or later, getting upset as well.

P.S: Just imagine what would happen if all women wants to be equal to men in every aspects !!!
